Board Elections for 2012 - 2014
The American Community Organization (ACO), which consists of parents, the legal owners of the school, and is represented by a Board of Trustees, is seeking interested candidates to fill vacant Board positions for the 2012/2013 and 2012/2014 school years. The Board of Trustees includes 7 members, elected for a two-year term by the ACO. There are four positions open:
- 2 positions for official Americans, those in Jordan working officially with the government of The United States of America.
- 2 positions for At Large Representatives.
Electing the Board of Trustees is a vital part of your role as an ACS parent. Over the next two to five years, ACS will be involved in strategic action planning that will help determine the long-term growth and development of the school and our service to students.
To help guide this planning, ACS requires a committed and conscientious Board of Trustees who will provide leadership and strategic thinking as we move forward.
The Board of Trustees has three major functions:
- Hire and evaluate the Superintendent.
- Oversee the school’s finances.
- Set policies for the school.
The First ACO Meeting will take place on April 24, 2012 at 3:30 PM in the MPR. Usually there is no quorum; therefore, a second and final ACO meeting will take place on May 2, 2012 at 5:00 PM in the Gym.
